Sterling silver jewellery may tarnish or discolour over time if exposed to cosmetics and perfumes, and hand creams can clog up gemstone settings and make them appear dull. Your jewellery can be gently cleaned with hot soapy water and a soft toothbruth.
Gold plating may fade over time, especially rings, so it is advised to remove all rings when swimming, bathing, washing up or any other activity in water. Jewellery can be re-gold plated for a fee, starting at £30.
Precious metals can become dull over time with a build-up of grease and dirt and should be cleaned regularly with the liquid soap, water and toothbrush method.
