This headpiece was inspired by excessive decoration and unusual silhouettes on the head, and pushing how far the overall shape the head can be distorted until its features were no longer recognisable. The headpiece is based on the idea of grotesque distortions. Bulging organic masses are made out of wool to looked like growths, and underwater coral and sea life, looking as though some organic matter had grown out of the head and completely taken it over. The headpiece has separate cushions to place underneath to reshape and distort it further.
